Norway spearfishing rules.

Postby Tony from Holland » 28.11.2005 2:14:45

Hi All,

I'm from Holland and here you're not allowed to fish at all with any gun.
Now I like to find out what the regulations are in Norway as well in Sweden and Finland, like do you need a license and if so how do you get one ?
In Greece I use Mares air gun types are you allowed to use those ?
Any help or tips be very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance

As I know, in Sweden the same like in Holland. No proplems in Norway and in Finland. Especially no any problems in Norway. But you need about 90-100 cm rubber gun or long pneumat. Because visibility is good and no many fish goes close to you. But Norway for spearfishers is like Mecca for moslems.

That's good news Doc.I was just wondering what's a pneumat ( I hope this
doesn't sound silly) the gear I use now is air based and is extremly powerfull over at least 5 meters, but can you use air based guns over there ?

Thanks again

Hi, Tony!
Pneumat is a slang of air baised (pneumatic) underwater guns. If you can shoot on 5 m distance, it will be O'K. Of course, you can use it in Norway or Finland.
